The 2nd Pacific Basin Conference on Adsorption Science and Technology
May 14-18, 2000
Novotel Hotel, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
Conference Format and Instructions to Authors
Scope of the Conference
The Pacific Basin Conference Committee is pleased to announce the second Pacific Basin Conference on Adsorption Science and Technology to be held in Brisbane, Australia, May 14-18, 2000. The theme for this conference will be "Adsorption Science and Technology for the new Millenium". The conference format for this conference will be different from that of other conferences to reflect the growth of this area and to mark the occasion of the new millenium. Five keynote speakers will present in-depth overviews of key research areas: materials, molecular simulations, equilibria, kinetics, processes, useful to all researchers in adsorption. Important general topics on adsorption will be presented in one oral session to ensure maximum participation and discussion. Other specialised topics will be presented in posters. All aspects of adsorption science and technology are welcome for presentation in both oral and poster sessions. These areas are suggested, but not limited to the following:
* Fundamental studies in adsorption, media, phase transition, transport in heterogeneous porous media, molecular modelling.
* Materials: Research in new materials as well as developing materials both microporous and mesoporous. Carbon materials, zeolite, organised mesoporous materials, other inorganic and organic materials
* Adsorption characterisation: equilibria, kinetics, X-ray small angle scattering, spectroscopy, XPS, etc.
* New methods for characterisation of adsorbents
* Processes: PSA, TSA, SMB, chromatography
* Applications: progress in well established technologies as well as emerging technologies.
Keynote Speakers
・Professor Katsumi Kaneko (Japan)
・Professor Douglas Ruthven (USA)
・Professor Ken Sing (UK)
・Professor William Steele (USA)
・Professor Ralph Yang (USA)

The ias mailing list is maintained by "Prof. Gino V. Baron" at the VUB,
Brussels, Belgium (gvbaron@vub.ac.be) as a service to the International
Adsorption Society members. It is also available to all interested in
adsorption and should keep you informed on a regular basis on conferences, events, open positions, requests for information or anything that will appear to be useful to our adsorption community. Also, new additions / modifications to the ias website (http://ias.vub.ac.be/) are announced through electronic mail (e-mail). You are all invited to help in providing information for this list and suggest subscription to colleagues.
Send an email with your information to the list (ias@listserv.vub.ac.be).
This is a moderated list and postings are filtered and / or merged by the
list_owner. At most, a weekly digest will be issued, to limit the assault
on your mailbox. Please direct any questions or comments to the list. For subscription, send to majordomo@listserv.vub.ac.be the message: subscribe ias and for unsubscription: unsubscribe ias
